On the 26th of May, The Humanitarians together with Mr South Africa and the organisation embarked on campaign to provide 100 healthy and affordable hampers to sustain 100 Muslim households in Manenberg for the Holy month of Ramadan. By the grace of God we were able to pack and distribute 123 hampers filled with healthy and affordable alternatives that are low carbohydrate and rich in healthy fats. These items were tinned pilchards, dates, eggs, avocado, onions, tomatoes, samp, lentils, beans, full cream milk, butternut and a pap alternative called Heba Pap.
Before distribution we educating 100 mothers and fathers of their household on the benefits of eating healthy and how to make use of the items provided. This is part of our mission and vision to avoid toxic charity and rather empower communities to be accountable for their own lives.
