The Sustainable Hamper Project

This initiative aims to provide hampers (n=2000) that are filled with sustainable items such as low carbohydrate, moderate protein and healthy fat intake and sustainable recipes and effective/revolutionized non-perishable items for underprivileged communities in the Bonteheuwel, Athlone, Gugulethu, Khayelitsha, Delft and Ottery areas.

Rice Cauli-rice – recipe included in hamper
Sugar NONE or 1 teaspoon honey (per day)

Samp/Soya Beans/Sardines/Canned Tuna
Sweets Almonds/Pecan Nuts
Breakfast Cereals Eggs
Pasta sheets Eggplant/courgettes
Pasta noodles Courgette noodles – recipe included in hamper
Bread Coconut bread made from coconut flour
Pizza bases Cauli Base/Egg+cheese
Flour Almond/coconut flour/flax seed
Margarine Butter/lard/fat/Coconut oil
Vegetable oils Avocado/olive oil/butter/ghee/coconut oil
Low fat dairy Full cream milk and cheese
Pap Avocados / Banting pap recipe
Fizzy drinks/juices/alcohol Water + Lemon water
Processed meats Natural/organic meats + animal sources
